Dear parents,
Students have made a bigger and better come back than Mitch Marsh. I have been particularly impressed by their willingness to generously adapt to the expectations set for uniform and good order. Class and homeroom teachers have been at pains to inculcate routines early in the year. And while those elements are currently at the forefront of minds and actions, it is anticipated that their habitual adherence will enable them to recede to the background so that learning in a fun and respectful climate will come to the fore. I'd like to thank parents for the myriad ways you have prepared your children for the school year, adapting in your own way to new areas of focus.
Thanks to parents who attended Meet the Teacher yesterday afternoon. I look forward to also seeing you at the Welcome BBQ on Sunday at midday. These events, among many others, are integral to the work of preserving, growing and transmitting the project of Catholic community on which the school is founded.
I would also like to invite parents to attend the House Swimming Carnival, to be held at Jindera Pool on Wednesday 21st February. It is always a fun day and many parents come for the day to enjoy the company and lively atmosphere.
I am grateful to Mr Griffin and Mr Hayward who are training a group of students at the pool each Tuesday and Thursday morning before school. We honour those who demonstrate commitment and achieve success. We also honour those who give their best each day. Whether it is in the pool, classroom, playground or church, I encourage students to bring their best.
Warm regards, Ian Smith Principal
