Dear parents,
When Janet and I attended parent nights at a previous school I would cheekily try to predict the level of guilt I would feel for being such a bad dad. Yes, I know, I should be praying more, getting home for dinner and bringing my dear wife flowers much more often than I generally do. I even had a name for the instrument I used to measure my shame – the guilt-o-metre.
Well, I left the guilt-o-metre in Sydney and would like to invite you to a completely guilt-free, shame-free and awkwardnessless parent night on the topic of raising children who are pure and well-prepared to live chastely in whatever pathway Our Lord calls them to. I am delighted that Fr Murphy will be present to share his clear and authoritative thoughts, and to welcome back the Sisters of the Immaculata, who will also present of this important topic for Catholic parents.
Parent Night, 7.30pm Thursday 3rd November, College Hall
The night will be instructive and encouraging, with a sense that we are very much in this together. That sense will be intensified by the sharing of a beverage after the talk. And I promise not to turn the lights out too early. I’m really looking forward to meeting up with you then.
Warm regards,
Ian
Principal

Country Fete
The Country Fete will take place next Saturday 29th October. We still need helpers to set up in the morning and pack up afterwards and if anyone is able to lend fold up tables or gazeos, it would be a great help. If you can assist, please contact the school office or email: vera.galvin@smmc.nsw.edu.au
The school will accept pre-loved items for the Bric-a-brac stall from Monday next week. Please sign into the office when dropping off items. Items must be clean, complete and not broken. Clothing and large furniture items will not be accepted this year.
Students are asked to bring their ‘mystery bottles’ into the office by Wednesday next week to receive a free icy pole.
Please invite your family and friends along to the fete and help make the event another success. Remember to bring a shopping bag and cash, as eftpos facilities will not be available on the day. See you there!
