Week 2 Term 1, 2022 Newsletter

Dear parents,

The more things change, the more they stay the same. I don’t know if that saying applies, but after much change leading into the commencement of the 2022 school year, SMMC staff and students have started the year in truly fine form. I am looking forward to, and have already begun to see, the signs of academic excellence and growth in faith and virtue.

I would like to welcome several new staff members this week: first, Mr Ross Hayward, who commences as the new class teacher for Year 5 this Monday, Mrs Catherine Stewart, who will be managing students’ activities, maintenance and development in the Garden, and Mr JP Sweeney, who will be teaching Music and leading the choir. Each of our new staff members brings a wealth of experience, skill and, above all, a love of Jesus and our Catholic faith.

Arrangements for the first Parent Night of the year are still to be confirmed, but I will let you know about it shortly. Finally, I am really looking forward to seeing you at the Welcome BBQ on Sunday at noon. All are most welcome, as the name suggests.

Warm regards,

Ian Smith

Principal

This year’s School Photo Day will be on Friday 18th February.  Students are asked to be neat and tidy in their appearance on the day and to wear correct uniform.  Order forms will be sent out next week.
