Week 10 Term 1 2023 Newsletter
Dear parents,
Under skies presaging storms, Tuesday’s Cross Country Carnival was run and won, with the Champion House to be announced on Monday. Some students lap up the kilometres, but most find the event to be a stretch. I am most grateful to the many parents who came to watch and volunteer. That stretch intrinsic to the event seemed a sweet suffering when enthusiastic support roused runners along the route and at the vanishingly distant finish line.
Another opportunity for parent involvement will commence in term 2 when high school classes rotate each week through an hour at the Adoration Chapel in Albury on Friday’s at 11.00am. Each cohort will need a few parents to get them to and from the chapel each week, starting with Year 7 on the 28th April. Students will have the opportunity to spend time in prayer as well as cleaning and ordering the chapel.
Anzac Day also falls in the first week of term 2. The Jindera service commences at 10.30am at the war memorial on the corner Urana and Dight Sts. I’d like to encourage all students to attend in their full winter uniform as a sign of honour and respect.
Thanks for your support throughout the term. I’d like to wish all families a happy holy week and every blessing over the Easter break.
Warm regards,
Ian Smith
Principal
