Dear Members of our Community of Faith,

I think it’s time to invest in some canoes and build this into out PDHPE Programme! Either that or Water Polo. Trying to find a dry spot of the playground at the moment is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, but the students as always have been very patient and adapted as well as they can to the conditions, although I’m sure your washing machines have been getting a fair work out.
Congratulations to Samuel Whitehead who is our ‘School Rules Hot Chips Winner’ for this week (and for the second time). Well done Sam!
Yr.11 Students have been busy sitting their exams this week. I congratulate them for their calm and dedicated approach across the week. Thank you to the staff who have coordinated and supervised to ensure everything runs smoothly. I’m sure the Yr.11s will enjoy their activities week next week with exams now out of the way.
SMMC Fete
Keep selling those tickets! See picture below to see what you can win. Also don’t forget to get your Mystery Bottles in to Mrs Mott as soon as you can.
P&F Cake Stall
This Saturday 17th September is our cake stall outside the Jindera Newsagency and Take Away Store from 7.30 am until 10.30 am. Donations of baked goods – cakes, cupcakes, muffins, slices and biscuits – will be very much appreciated as early as possible after 7.30 am on Saturday 17th September at the site of the cake stall or they may be left at school anytime on Friday 16th September. Goods need to be ready for sale: sealed in plastic and labelled with a basic list of ingredients. Suggestions for biscuits and slices: 6 pieces per pack; for muffins and cupcakes: 4 per pack. Thank you for your support.
Netball News and Netball breakup from Mrs Ryan
Our U/13s team played a tough semi-final’s game last Saturday and were beaten by the St John’s team. Due to illness we were down to 6 players but still made it a good game, fighting for every goal right until the end. Well done girls! This year the breakup will be an informal and fun netball match followed by hot chips and maybe some cake. It will take place at our normal training time next Wednesday 21st, September at the Jindera netball courts, 3:30 – 5:30pm. Jenette, Anastasia and I will all be there and we would like to invite any mothers who are able to come and join us. It is great to see the way the girls have improved so much in their skills throughout the season. It would be helpful to know if any of the players are not able to come as we will make up teams for the match before Wednesday. If anyone wants to offer to make a cake let us know (we don’t need much). If the weather is unsuitable we will postpone the event.
Father/Son Camp
A very exciting trip coming up for us all. A note will be sent home in the coming week with further details and a slip to fill in to get a commitment in order to finalise numbers and assist in the planning process.
Vale Annie Fallon
Yesterday I attended the funeral of Annie Fallon. Annie is the wife of Owen Fallon, who generously takes care of the school’s mowing. Our prayers are with Owen and his family at this difficult time. Thank you to our Yr.9/10 Students who both served on the Altar and sung beautifully in the choir. Their contributions were much appreciated.
Uniforms
New and second hand uniforms will now be stored at school in the office, but still coordinated by Anastasia Byrnes. You will still need to contact Anastasia directly via email or phone when ordering or arranging pick up of your uniform items please. Term 4 means Summer Uniform, so please see attached uniform order form and get your orders in by the end of next week to ensure you have what you need to begin Term 4 on Monday 10th October. A big thank you to Anastasia for her tireless efforts in coordinating this service.
God Bless,
Luke Burton
Principal
