Dear Members of our Community of Faith,

Well the end of the semester is here. Whilst being a very busy time, I have really enjoyed reading through all your children’s reports over the past couple of weeks. There is some excellent learning occurring throughout the school and I am very proud of the achievements of all our students and the wonderful dedication of our teaching staff. Everyone now gets a chance to rest up for three weeks before coming back ready for a big second semester of learning.

Reports and Parent/Teacher Interviews

A huge thank you to all the teachers who have worked tirelessly towards the end of term to complete assessments and write reports. I hope parents find the reports a useful way to communicate about student progress.  Thank you to Primary Teachers for their running of parent/teacher interviews during this week. It was pleasing to see so many parents avail themselves of this opportunity, especially on such a chilly night! These are a great opportunity to touch base and be on the same page with each of your children. Please don’t ever hesitate to get in touch with teachers at any time if ever there are things you would like to discuss. The door is always open. Secondary Parent/Teacher Interviews will take place on Tuesday 25th July.

Parent Evening

Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend Sam Clear’s talk on Tuesday evening. What an inspirational and adept speaker. He was very encouraging of our school and what we are achieving here.

Uniform

Just a quick reminder for students to ensure they are wearing the correct uniform and wearing the uniform with pride. Some alternative footwear has started to creep in, so a reminder that students are to please wear black leather shoes, not canvas shoes or any other variety. Thank you for your assistance with this. We will be going through the lost property bin during the holidays. Anything that is named will be returned and all unnamed items will be donated to second hand uniform.

SRC Breakfast Club

Thank you to the SRC for running another top notch

breakfast on Wednesday morning. They are certainly becoming popular and it was great to see a few parents there. Looking forward to the next big breakfast feast.

5/6 Excursion

The Yr.5/6s enjoyed their excursion to the Barber’s farm on Monday, learning about many different aspects of farming as part of their unit on alternative farming. Thank you to Miss McCormack for her organisation, the Barbers for their hospitality, Mr Paul McCormack for generously giving of his time to drive the bus and to the parents who assisted on the day. The students thoroughly enjoyed the outing and the learning that came from it.

Gala Dinner and Fete

If you haven’t already please send in the form indicating any businesses you may be able to approach to seek donations. Thank you!

Honour Board

We have finally had our honour board updated with Isaac Ryan’s name added for being dux in 2016 and the current school captains on also. A big thank you to Cory at Offset Solutions for doing this work for us.

Thank you to our wonderful school community for your contributions and support throughout the first six months of the year. Enjoy the break with your children. We will have a staff development day on Monday 17th July and students will resume on Tuesday 18th July, refreshed and ready for a great term. See you then!

God Bless, Luke Burton (Principal)
