Dear Parents,
This year’s Presentation Night has morphed into a planned series of smaller, low-key gatherings. Nonetheless, student achievement and effort will be recognised and parents will be able to join the livestream from the comfort of home or coffee shop.
While the high school awards remain largely the same as in previous years, each primary student will receive recognition for a particular virtue they have grown in over the course of the year. Additionally, three students in each primary class will be recognised for achievement, application and encouragement, respectively. The awards amplify the SMMC focus on building character and the pursuit of excellence.
I would like to thank students in Years 7-10 (and their parents!) for their efforts in recent times through home learning and exams. Teachers and students have made the best of a challenging situation, and I wanted to make particular mention of the lab-coated Mr Elias, who led this year’s Science Fair, which featured explosions, inventions and plenty of inspiration. Thanks to all of our dedicated and talented staff who have worked tirelessly throughout the year.
Warm regards,
Ian Smith
Principal
Kinder Orientation
Kinder orientation will take place next week on Wednesday 1st and Friday 3rd November from 9.00am to 11.00am. Parents will need to sign their child in at the front office on arrival and then walk them to the Kinder classroom where Miss Maclean will meet all new kinder students. Parents are then able to pick their child up between 10.50am and 11.00am from the bus shelter, next to the school office.
Primary Pool Fun Day
To celebrate the end of year, Primary students will have a ‘Pool Fun Day’ at the Jindera pool on the morning of Monday 6th December. Please see attached flyer for more information.
