Dear Members of our Community of Faith,

On Tuesday we had a visit from Questacon, who held a smart skills workshop for our year 6-12 students. Questacon will be holding an Invention Convention in Albury Wodonga during the school holidays over three days, 9th -11th July. This event is free for secondary student’s 14-18 years old. Visit www.questacon.edu.au for more information.

Students in both primary and secondary were lucky to have a talk on unique animals that live in Australia. Students were given the opportunity to hold non venomous snakes, lizards and turtles. Students were also taught safety and first aid content.

Safety

Over the past few weeks we have noticed students turning up to school on bikes not wearing helmets. We ask that any students riding to school, wear a helmet for safety reasons. Children are also to cross the road at the school crossing and are to walk their bike across.

Parents picking their children up from school at the end of day are asked to please wait for them inside the school gate. Children are not allowed to go outside the gate until their parent comes to collects them. This is for safety reasons as there is a lot of traffic passing through the carpark at this time.

If for any reason you need to pick your child/children up early from school, please sign them out at the office and a staff member will collect our child/children for you. Students are not allowed to meet or walk out to their car on their own.

Absences

Just a reminder for parents to please email or write a note for your child/children if they are away for any reason. You may like to CC your child’s teacher in on the email to notify them. Please do not send text messages.  Attached you’ll find a copy of our staff directory.
