Dear Parents,
This week marked a new milestone in this strangest of years. Staff and students enjoyed a shared meal for the first time since the feast of St Joseph when the Wagga seminarians visited.
The Year 12s did a brilliant job organising a heavily-patronised and delicious pancake breakfast fundraiser for Kateri on Wednesday. Special thanks to Mr Williams and Mrs Galvin, other staff who pitched in and others still who contributed ingredients for the event, gratis. Another notable fundraiser, a lolly jar guessing competition, was staged by Miss Maclean. Again, the Year 12s cheerfully manned the stations and collected the cash. Congratulations to Lucia Wall, who guessed impeccably.
Many of the Covid restrictions that ruled out these sorts of events have been collapsed into what is being called “principal-endorsed events”. In view of this, it is my happy duty to announce that “The Importance of Being Earnest” can and will be staged before a near-full house in the Hall.
The heat may be rising, but it seems the air is clearing. Deo gratias!
Warm regards,
Ian Smith
Principal

St Vincent de Paul Biscuit Drive
Due to the Holy Spirit Parish annual Christmas luncheon for the elderly not being able to go ahead this year because of COVID-19, the Holy Spirit St Vincent de Paul Society has decided to run a Christmas Biscuit Drive instead. They will be delivering homemade Christmas biscuits to those who would usually attend the luncheon. It has been worked out that they will need around 3400 biscuits and are asking students, with family assistance, to help out by baking biscuits. If you would like to help out, a recipe page for biscuits is attached. All freshly baked biscuits need to be dropped off in a clean ice cream container after the 10am Mass on the Sunday 29th November, in the parish meeting room.
