Dear Members of our Community of Faith,

Well done to Zachariah Mahoni who is our weekly hot chips winner for upholding our School Rules and being the lucky one drawn out of the raffle. Also Happy Birthday to Daniel Buchanan and Zelie Tocher, who share a birthday today.
We are now over half way through the term, which appears to be just flying by. The students and staff are working really hard as always and producing some terrific work. A visitor to our school said to me at last Friday’s Assembly what talented teachers we have at SMMC and the variety of learning shared was evidence of this (not to mention our students are very talented also!).
Congratulations
The Simpson family welcomed another boy into their family yesterday morning, which is a great blessing. We wish them all the best. At time of printing, no name had yet been decided on, but Mum (and Dad) and bub are doing well.
Fete Subcommittee Meeting
Next Wednesday 31st August will be our next meeting as we continue to move along with preparations for our upcoming Fete in October. I am looking forward to experiencing this event for the first time! We look forward to seeing you at the meeting if you can be there.
School Concert
Many auditions have been held for our School Concert performances and the final auditions will be held next Tuesday 30th August. Make sure you set aside the time to get along to SMMC next Friday 2nd September for a 7pm start and see the SMMC Talent!! All welcome.
2017 Kinder Enrolments
Tours and Enrolment Interviews are well under way. In order to continue planning effectively for next year, I would like to have these enrolments finalised as soon as possible. Please get in touch as soon as you can.
Lost property
Another friendly reminder that the lost property bin is overflowing, so please check you have all your uniform and come and look through if you are missing any items. Thank you!
Book Week
Well done to all the students who entered the Book Week Colouring in Competition. Prizes were presented to the winning students at Tuesday’s Assembly. There were joint winners in the ‘Teachers’ Favourite Books’ Competition. This was a gruelling task, so well done to the Chandrasegaran Family, Perry Family and the Yr.9/10 Girls Family who were joint winners. They were able to work out 13 of the 15 books. The much anticipated answers are on p.4 of this newsletter. Thank you to Mrs Mott for her efforts in coordinating these competitions. If you’re not sure who Mrs Mott is, she’s the one wearing the crown and waving in a funny manner!
Here are some photos from our Primary School Book Week Parade to finish up this week’s news. The students did an excellent job of dressing up and celebrating books and the gift of reading, which is so essential to all learning. Well done to everyone.
God Bless,
Luke Burton (Principal)
