Dear Members of our Community of Faith,
What a busy term it has been so far! I want to thank all of our school community for their constant support of our school. We have called on you for numerous things including selling raffle tickets, cooking sausages at Bunnings and beginning to get organised for the Gala Dinner and Fete just to name a few things. As always your generosity comes to the fore and it is very much appreciated.
Congratulations to Gerard McLaurin who bought the lucky ticket in the P&F Wood Raffle which was drawn last Friday. Gerard kindly donated the wood to some other families which was very generous and no doubt well received and appreciated by them especiallly with the onset of winter. The final total on the raffle was $690. Thank you to everyone for their work in selling tickets – a great result!
The next subcommittee meeting for the Gala Dinner and Fete will be held on Wednesday 14th June. Please get the slips back indicating if you are able to assist with approaching businesses to seek donations for these two big fundraisers.
Congratulations to the Irwin family on the safe arrival of George Richard. We hope all is going well!
Parents please note that all secondary students have been given password access to www.mathsonline.com.au. It is an excellent site that aligns with the curriculum to support them in their learning. Students are encouraged to utilise this website.
Term 2 Parent Evening
Please mark Tuesday 20th June down for our Term 2 Parent Evening beginning at 7:30pm. Sam Clear will be our guest speaker. A flyer will be sent home shortly with further information.
The Lost Uniform bin is full! Please check that your children have all their uniform items. Please also check that your children do not have another child’s uniform item as we have had a number of jumpers and the like disappear. These are expensive items, so your assistance would be appreciated.
Can you help?
I am seeking assistance in making Religious Education materials for Primary Classrooms. The Year 7/8 TAS Class made some very impressive materials last term to get us started, but there is still much to do. If you are able to help out with any of the following sorts of tasks please let me know: laminating, painting of wooden figures, timber construction and sewing. Many of these tasks can be undertaken at home if that is more feasible for you.
Leaders Now Program
A Leaders Now Information Session will be held this coming Monday 5th June at Thurgoona Parish beginning at 7:30pm. It is for girls in years 7-10 who may be interested in doing phase one of Leaders Now, which is a leadership program for young women. Please call Kathleen Horsfall on 0431734206.
Please see the attached flyer about the upcoming National Association of Catholic Families Conference. These are wonderful events for meeting other families and gaining valuable input for our role as parents. Please give the conference some serious consideration.
This coming Sunday marks the end of the Easter Season with the great feast of Pentecost. We ask the Holy Spirit for the special gifts that will help us to be more like Jesus.
