Wonderful news this week with the safe arrival of Ronan Donald Blood. A huge congratulations to Daniel, Vanessa and family – what a great blessing. We hope all is going well and we look forward to hopefully meeting him soon.

A very warm welcome to Jose and Alison Patino and family who joined the SMMC community this week. Sam is in Year 7, Michael in Year 5, John-Paul in Year 3 and Carlos in Kinder with Ernesto joining us in Kinder next year. They have settled in really well across this week and I am sure we will make them very welcome at SMMC.

Congratulations to our nine HSC Students who have now completed their exams. We are very proud of the way they conducted themselves throughout their HSC year. They can now have some time to enjoy that amazing feeling of freedom you get when exams are no longer looming. We enjoyed a wonderful night last Saturday celebrating with them at their Graduation Dinner at The Commercial Club. Thank you to all involved in organising such a wonderful evening. We wish these young adults all the very best for their futures.

Congratulations to Claudia McLeod who was awarded a Silver Medal at the ISKA (International Sports Karate Association) World Cup in Sydney. There was 1000 competitors over 3 days. A great effort!

Mission Money

Thank you to the SRC for running the cupcake stall on All Saints Day. We raised $171 which has been donated to Catholic Mission.

This week our Year 7-10 students are sitting their annual exams. These will finish up tomorrow and it will be business as usual next week. Teachers will be busy writing reports for K-10 over the next few weeks and these will be posted out at the end of the term.

Mobile Phones

Please note that students should not be bringing mobile phones or other devices to school. If any parents require their child to carry a mobile phone please contact me directly. Any misuse will result in collection of the device and they will need to be collected by the student’s parents.

Mother/Daughter Camp

This Friday the Mothers and Daughters will head off for their camp at Howman’s Gap. It is a beautiful part of the world up there and I am sure the weekend will be a great experience for you all as you test your physical capabilities and be nourished spiritually also. The boys will still come to school on Friday and take part in various activities across the day including making some new timber bench seats and a chess competition!

P&F AGM Postponed

The P&F AGM has been postponed and will now be held on Thursday 23rd November starting at 7:30pm. Parents please get along if you can. The more the merrier!

Thank you to Mrs Ryan and Mrs Bell for their organisation of the Marriage Novenas during the past couple of months not to mention the tireless work of so many families in being a voice for the defence of marriage during this time. Please continue to pray for our politicians who will ultimately decide on the outcome.

A page of Fete photos is attached to reminisce on a terrific community day. Thank you once again to all of you for making this year’s fete such a success!

Enjoy the rest of your week.

God Bless,

Luke Burton (Principal)
