Dear Members of our Community of Faith,

What a terrific week it has been celebrating our tenth year of operation and all the blessings that have been bestowed upon the school. It was wonderful to celebrate the feast of Saint Mary MacKillop on Wednesday with Mass, 450 sausages in bread and an afternoon concert sharing poetry, songs and a drama performance outlining the life of Saint Mary MacKillop. The celebrations continue tomorrow evening (Saturday 11th August) with our Gala Dinner beginning at 6:30 pm at the Commercial Club in Albury, so we hope to see you there. All money raised will be put to good use as the new buildings are installed sometime this year. On Sunday (12th August) we will have a ‘Back to SMMC’ BBQ here at the school from 11am – 1pm. All past and present families are very welcome, so please pass the word around. The school is providing the meat, so please bring a salad and/or dessert to share and maybe a pair of runners to burn up and down the court in!

On Tuesday the 7th August we had over 40 Primary Students represent our school at the RAS Athletics Carnival at Alexandra Park. Congratulations to all students who went along on the day.

Well done to all the Year 2-6 students who participated in yesterday’s Eisteddfod at the Albury Entertainment Centre. Thank you to Mr Flores who has put in many hours of teaching to prepare the students for the day. They came an admiral 2nd and did our school very proud. Well done!

Coming up in Week 5 we have Book Week. This Year the theme is “Find Your Treasure”. We will have a dress up day on Tuesday 21st August, with a Parade at 11:20am. Please see attached flyer for more information and enjoy guessing the baby photos in this year’s competition.

Thank you to all the families who were able to get along to the Working Bee last Saturday. It was most pleasing to see the spirit of service the students have towards their school. A huge effort was put in over the day and lots achieved. All your hard work is greatly appreciated.

Primary P/T Interviews

Parent teacher interviews for primary children are coming up next Tuesday 14th August from 3:30pm-6:00pm. These meetings are an important part of the reporting process and a great opportunity for you to touch base with your child’s teacher. A note was sent home on Tuesday, so please return this to the school office as soon as possible. A confirmation of your times will be sent home once finalised.

9-12 Ski Trip

Our Year 9-12 students will be hitting the slopes on Friday the 24th August. Notes have gone home and must be returned ASAP so we can finalise all the logistics. Your prompt assistance with this is appreciated.

Head Lice

There has been a reported case of head lice within the school, so please be diligent in checking your children’s hair and treating if necessary to prevent them spreading. Thank you!
