Welcome back to the 2019 Academic Year. The school is certainly looking a lot different to when we departed last December. A very warm welcome to all our new staff, students and their families to Saint Mary MacKillop College. It is wonderful to have you with us and we hope you are settling in well.

Working Bee
Thank you so much to all the families who were able to come along and help out at the Working Bee on Saturday the 2nd. Many jobs were completed and your generosity is much appreciated.

Mother and Daughter Camp
This year the mums and daughters are off to Harrietville. They will be leaving on Friday the 1st March and returning on Sunday the 3rd March. Please return notes and payment to the office as soon as possible so we can organise your fun weekend.

Welcome Barbeque
Yesterday, Sunday 10th February we had a great turn out to our welcome back BBQ. It was wonderful to see so many families and staff that were able to make it on the day. Thank you to those who were able to bring along a salad or dessert. Many thanks to Fr Murphy for blessing our wonderful new buildings.

Swimming Carnival
Our annual swimming carnival is fast approaching and will be held on Wednesday 20th February at the Jindera Pool. Students are to make their way directly to the pool on that morning. If they catch a bus they can get off at Jindera Public School and walk up to the pool. Please return any permission and volunteer notes to the office as soon as possible.

Residential Address Collection
Attached to the newsletter you will find an information sheet on the Students’ Residential Address Collection and a FAQs sheet. As stated in the information we will be undertaking this collection between February 19 and March 18.

Hats
As part of the school uniform, students are required to wear hats during Term 1 and Term 4. Please ensure that your children remember to bring their school hats to school. High School boys’ Akubra hats are available from Doug Dydes produce store until the new ones are available.

Information Night
This Wednesday 13th February we are holding a primary and Year 7 Information Night. The Year 7’s meeting will be held in the hall from 5.00 – 5.30pm. Each primary teacher will be holding an information session in their classrooms from 5.30 – 6.00pm on the curriculum, texts and resources used, classroom management and will answer any questions that arise. Handouts will be available as we know you may not be able to get to every teacher.

Carpark
Could parents please note that while there is work still in progress, could you please park in the two rows of parking closest to the school hall. Thank you.
