Dear Members of our Community of Faith,

Welcome to Week 2 and a steady increase in temperature as we enjoy some beautiful spring weather. Amazingly I can still see some snow clinging to the mountains on my way home from work each evening. What a great season they’ve had.

Thank you to the wonderful families who attended the Working Bee last Saturday. It was great to walk in on Monday morning and see the school looking so neat and tidy. Your efforts are very much appreciated. I am sure you’ll be pleased to know the new BBQ is due to arrive this Friday, so no more flame grilled sausages!

School Fete

Well it is finally upon us. After many months of preparations, this coming Saturday 21st October the school will be abuzz from 10am – 1pm for our annual fete. Thank you to everyone for their incredible efforts in preparing for this great day in the school’s calendar. A few last minute reminders: Any further bric-a-brac items can be dropped off at the school hall before the fete. Please return any raffle tickets, sold or unsold. Get your chef’s hats on and cook up something for the ever popular cake stall. Don’t forget to volunteer to sell tickets for the wheel spins if you have some free time on fete day. Anyone who has unwanted pot plants or plants they would like to give to the fete please leave at school behind the 3/4 classroom. Heavy pots can be collected. All donations gratefully received. Enquiries to Mrs Tingle 0417685720. The weather is looking positive, so get along for what will be a really enjoyable day.

Work Experience for Yr.9/10

Our Yr.9/10 Students who are 16 will take part in Work Experience during the week following exams. Please contact Mr Williams to ensure you are organised for this to take place during this period.
Legion of Mary 200th Meeting
Junior legionaries celebrated the 200th meeting of the original praesidium – Mary Help of Christians – on Tuesday. Legionaries celebrated with prayers together, a talk from the Spiritual Director, Fr Lee and special afternoon tea afterwards. Mrs Clare Ryan is the president, Darcy Simpson vice president, Clare O’Brien secretary and Patrick Chandrasegaran treasurer. Fr Lee congratulated all the members on their perseverance in regularly coming to the Legion meetings.

A reminder that October is a special month dedicated to the Rosary. Our Lady has asked us specifically at Fatima to pray the Rosary daily and to do penance. We are living in times of intense spiritual battle that need spiritual arms.

I will be taking Tuesdays off for the next three weeks as my paternity leave and enjoying some time at home with Lucy, Matthew and Gen. Thank you to everyone for their well wishes on the arrival of Lucy. If you need to contact me on these days please just email or leave a message with Fiona in the office.

See you all on Saturday for a great day of fun! Keep up the prayers for some great weather and a successful day.

God Bless,

Luke Burton (Principal)
