Dear Members of our Community of Faith,

With the end of Term 1 being next Friday 12th April, we will be holding a whole school assembly in the hall after mass. All parents and friends are welcome to come along.

We have our school Athletics Carnival coming up this Tuesday 9th, April. Please return any permission and volunteer notes back on Monday if they have not already been returned. Parents please note that students do not come to school on this day. Students are required to be dropped off by 8.30am and picked up by 3.20pm at the Carnival. The first event will begin at 9am. The Carnival is at the previously named ‘Alexandra Park’ – it’s now called the ‘Les O’Brien Athletics Precinct’ – it’s still in Cadell Street East Albury.

Netball

Netball season is around the corner. If any there are any girls wanting to play this season or any mums willing to help out with running teams please get in contact with Clare Ryan or the school office as soon as possible. Beginners welcome. First game starts after the school holidays.

NAFC Conference 12-14th April

SMMC Albury is proudly sponsoring the National Association of Catholic Families National Conference at Lake Hume from Friday 12th April to Sunday 14th April.  Registrations close Sunday pm 7th April.

We would love your support of this conference and to join us in the final Mass at noon on Sunday 14th April at Thurgoona Parish. Could we ask that to assist with catering for the 1pm Lunch that all those attending Mass bring a salad or plate of slice or dessert to share. Many thanks!

Head Lice

There has recently been a case of head lice in the school. Please check your children/children’s hair for lice and treat if necessary.

ANZAC DAY

Students are asked to please wear their full Winter School Uniform if they are attending the ceremony held at 10.30am at the Jindera Memorial ground on Thursday 25th April, for the Anzac day service, as they will be representing our school.

Chess Competition

Our school hosted Xavier High School for the first round of the Country Secondary School Chess Teams Competition. Four games were fiercely played, with SMMC claiming the first round 3-1. Well done to James O’Brien, Michael Cramer, Michael Patino-Tsolakis and Darcy Simpson.

Phones

Just a reminder that it is part of our school rules that students are not to have mobile phones at school. If you would like your child to have a phone with them for any reason please write a note to the school. If students are feeling unwell they are not to use their own phone to notify parents, they are to go to the office. A staff member will then contact parents.

SMMC Logo Scarf

If your child/children would like a scarf to wear this winder, please write your child’s name on an envelope with payment of $5 per scarf, and hand it into Mrs Mott-Pekolj or to the office.

School Photos

Last chance to order school photos. Thank you to Mrs Mott-Pekolj who volunteered her time once again to take the photos. If you haven’t already handed in your photo form with money please get it in before the end of Term.

We wish all our families a happy and holy Easter. We are looking forward to seeing every back at school for Term 2.

Student’s first day back will be Tuesday 30th April.
