Eisteddfod
The Primary choir came third in the Eisteddfod yesterday for Combined choirs K-6. They were commended for their disciplined entry to the stage, their pitch, harmony and phrasing and given encouraging feedback on their great potential. Thanks to Mr Flores for preparing them so well.
Wonga Wetlands Excursion
Next Wednesday 5th August Primary Classes will be travelling to Wonga Wetlands to learn more about animals and their habitats. The school is seeking parent helpers to assist with student activities whilst we are there. Please give your name to Miss Maclean or Miss Vieira if you are available between 10.15 and 2.00pm on the day of the excursion.

Professional Placement
Mrs Caroline Barton, who is completing her teaching degree at Latrobe University, will commence a four week placement in the 5/6 class next Monday 3rd August.

Saint Mary MacKillop Gala Dinner
Bookings close Tuesday 4th August. Numbers are limited. You can book your tickets through www.trybooking.com/142495. The Saint Mary MacKillop Gala Dinner is at the Commercial Club’s Waratah room, Saturday 8th August 6.30pm for 7pm start. Funds raised will go towards a multi-purpose, sealed sports area for the school. Part of the evening will include an auction of goods and services. Please book your tickets or table by Tuesday 4th August.
Saint Mary MacKillop Celebration
Students are asked to dress up as a famous Australian. Each class is to concentrate on one city. Students can dress up as people, a place, an iconic symbol etc for a $2 donation.

Earn and Learn Stickers
The Safeway/Woolworths ‘Earn and Learn’ program has just started again for this year which allows our school to exchange stickers for educational resources. For every $10 you spend at Safeway or Woolworths you can collect a sticker. Last year we obtained some sports equipment which has been greatly enjoyed.
SRC Fundraiser – SMMC Masterchef Competition
Savoury Dish: Monday 3rd August and
Sweet Dish: Thursday 6th August.
Students are to prepare a savoury dish for Monday. This will be heated up at school. Please bring your dish to the foyer kitchen in the hall with the title of your dish, the people who made it and the $5 entry fee. A sweet dish is to be prepared for Thursday.
Curriculum Corner
Children enjoyed pumpkin soup last Friday using some of the pumpkins from our garden.
